UK Supplier - Unmanned Tech Shop
#1
Just received an order.

Items supplied are not as described clearly on website (it even stated on website in bold that they would be supplied as stated in text and NOT as pictured, yet picture type no use to me supplied.

EMail bouncing back.

Phone not connecting, automated voice says use Website Chat or EMail.

Website Chat is useless BOT which dies on trying to start a ticket.

I'll let you know if my email goes through. i sent them one asking if the Darwin 30A 4in1 is 3-4S or 3-6S, this morning. Darwin site is a complete mess as usual, webpage title says 3-4S and spec sheet says 3-6S, plus Albert Kim's review is on 6S. Anyway, if I get a reply i will let you know. But tbh I've never had any issue with them in all the time I've bought stuff from them. But the chat bot is pretty useless. Best to send an email to [email protected] and they usually get back to you within a day or two.

Interested in what you ordered. But stuff like AIO's (my experience) are occasionally hit and miss. In the past i ordered three of the BetaFPV 12A AIO's, and got two different versions (2x v2.1 and 1x v2.2), I was after the older SPI one's not the newer ones. I emailed them and asked if they had any of the older ones left and they must have sent someone to look because I got an email saying they had found two, so I guess the new ones got mixed in with the old ones, but sent back the v2.2 and ordered the last old one. TBH, HobbyRC and YourFPV aren't much better. Both have sent me the wrong product on occasion. But it happens. I send an email, RMA, get replacement, move on. At least it's a UK store and not Ali.

We'll see anyway.

Just to chime in with my experience, I've odered lots from HobbyRC and UMT. Never had to deal with UMT's support but i have used the bot and its useless. HobbyRC can sometimes be a bit delayed in getting back (i dont think they have lots of staff) but they are always friendly and have always resolved my issues.

Now YourFPV... I've made 3 orders and each one i've received the wrong items. Firstly i was sent the wrong whoop, then the wrong FPV cam (HDZ cam when i ordered analog) and the last time was just props where they changed the order without telling me as they didnt have stock. I wont be ordering from them again... The guy (Gaf) was really nice but 3 for 3 on incorrect orders is too much for me.

I still get odd things from Gaf.  He sells a lot of RCiP motors that the other two don't have, but i've had a couple of orders that either weren't possible due to lack of stock or he sent some other props, like you.  For me personally I don't mind for the props as long as they are the same size I ordered.  But he isn't as big as UMT and HobbyRC, but he does seem to fly, which as much as UMT do blogs and what not, I'm not sure if any of the people working there even fly.  Same with HobbyRC.  If you fly in the middle of the UK, you will occasionally bump into Gaf.

Email came through this morning from Cameron @ UMT.  He has queried the ESC question with DarwinFPV.  I suspect the ESC can be used with 6S, not that i have any 6S Lipos, but if it is compatible I'm going to have some more of them, then i can get the 1408 build online on 5S or 6S.

@BadRaven, shoot them an email and they'll get back to you.

Gaf was super nice and friendly on the phone and via email! Just when 100% of my orders have been wrong i lose faith ?

I suspect he spends too much time flying and not enough running his business, which is fine if you own a surf shop, but anything electronics based, not so much. Still I buy things form him, mostly because I live maybe 15 miles from him and also he sells a number of things I like. Tongue

Back to UMT and my last order.

No further forward, no reply to Bot or to Email. Have tried to re-send EMail several times and only today (so far) it has not bounced back.

The problem (as asked here to elucidate!) was I ordered some "folded" 1S Tiny Whoop cells, Dogcom 320mAh.

While the single website picture showed a direct plug on end cap type, there was text adjacent in large bold that stated that what would be supplied would be cable connected. That is what I wanted.

I needed this as the quad lead as supplied is A30 and not long/flexible enough to reach.  The cells are BT Plug, which I do not use not want to, though they do "fit" by increased force and pushing the tab away in the A30 socket. The fit is poor and with the curved end/square end also defeatable in a distorted housing, increases the risk of reverse connecting and goodbye quad.  Over time it'll likely loosen the A30 to A30 fit, too.

The cable sort I'd likely have swapped the plug to A30 for an easy proper and much safer fit. The Cable sort would also fit without having to make an extension or lengthen the quad lead.  (New quad untested and warranty, etc).

To avoid modding new Mob6 2024 HDZero ECO quad or cells I have made a short converter extension but that adds the weight of another connector pair and possible HR.

I have JUST checked their website and the website text stating cable sort being sent out has NOW been removed, so I assume my message attempts have done something.

Frustrating though!

AND.........for info...................

The Dogcom 320's are giving noticeably longer flight times than equally new A30 GNB 380's flown the same flight path inside house at same speeds.   With TW flight times being so short anyway, in time difference terms it sounds relatively small, but its 25% better.  We'll see if that continues or any other quirks arise.

Hey, I have Dogcom 1S cells from UMT as well, but the older 300's that they don't sell any more. If you want I could email Cameron, who i've spoken with a few times on email and link him into this thread. It's unusual you are having issues with emailing them. Guessing you sent it to:
If you want to try again, i'd put "FAO: Cameron" in the Subject. He's always been a good person when I've needed help. Maybe try a different email address if you have one.

Thanks for the offer, maybe the wheels now are moving. I was mainly wanting to avoid others getting caught, too late for me as with two events (one in minutes!) I had to go ahead and use them.

As yes, that was one of the ways I tried.
