Davinci AI Upscaling 1S Walksnail footage to 4K
#1
I was most impressed by walksnail video quality in this youtube video

The video the quality of the 1S Walksnail is rather spectacular, and that the video certainly has been upscaled, I did ask in youtube comments, and they came back that is was created with Davinci Resolve..

I think I have found out how they done the upscaling, first up I started to experiment with free version of Davinci Resolve, and once I found the settings as for AI upscaling, but the upscaling is for the paid version, but it's still to experiment, but it waltermarks the video.

I have now purchased the studio version of Davinci, not just for the upscaling but I wanted a quality video editor that runs on Linux.

This is my first snippet of my upscaling, now this fortage is of green grass, which is something rather difficult for the upscaler, I think it's done alright.

This is still early days with me and Davinci Resolve,

Where you find the setting and the upscaler in Davinci

That's right clicking in the media file in the Media tab. and it's called Super Scale.

I can cover my finding in more depth depending on interest, but this sure is an excellent method of getting quality video out of Micros and whoops.

Otherwise you are going to wonder what I am on about about the quality of these videos. Once viewing in Youtube then select watch in HD or 4K.

You can just use normal upscaling (no AI). With the fast motion of drone footage and compression of Youtube maybe the difference is not that noitcable. You can set your timeline to the higher resolution or bump up the export resolution. A lot of other free software also upscales. The Walksnail OSD overlay tool has upscaling to 1440p, but I like to use Gyroflow as you can specify resolution/bit rate and also remove lens distortion if you prefer that look. That will compress the middle of the image so actually it will look sharper, but stretch out the sides where you will lose some details, but not too bad for flight videos.
Also you don't have to stabilize in GF if you don't want, it renders very quickly if you have a modern video card. Here is an example with from the lite camera, no stabilization was applied but run through GF.
